This past weekend (6/26) saw several MFIT athletes participate in extreme conditions across the country.  First was the El dorado Triathlon in El dorado, KS which had the most bearable conditions of the day.  There were 8 MFIT athletes competing, 4 in the Olympic distance (Jon, Grant, Raymond and Tim) and 3 in the sprint distance (Michael, Paul and Vickie).  Jon was 1st (M40-44), Tim was 3rd (M45-49), Grant was 4th (M30-34) and Raymond was 5th (M40-44).  In the sprint, Michael took 2nd overall.  Paul was 6th (M45-49) and Vickie was 4th (F50-54)!

In Lubbock, TX, at the Buffalo Springs 70.3 race there were 3 athletes competing in what had to be some of the toughest conditions ever.  With a high temperature of 110 and winds out of the South at 20+ mph, it proved to be a great challenge for all those athletes competing!  A big congratulations to Chrissy Usher, Jenny Ecord and Andy Gamble for completing the race along with some great stories to share!

In Coeur d’Alene, ID, it was just the opposite!  The temperature for the day was right around 70 which was great, however the morning temperature of 48 and the water temperature of 58 made the swim very difficult.  Congratulations to Dr. McFarland for hanging in there and fighting through what proved to be a tough, long day!
